    See Staged Reading of ‘Perseverance of the Saints’ by Adjunct Professor in Department of Humanities

    Two readings of the the play Perseverance of the Saints by Kat Evans, adjunct professor of playwriting for the Department of the Humanities, will be held for free at the First United Methodist Church Sanctuary at Chicago Temple, 77 W. Washington St. The readings of the play about a tumultuous religious conflict in the years after the Great Chicago Fire will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, and at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 7.

    Grand Opening — Illinois Tech Career Clothing Closet

    The Office of Career Services is excited to announce the Grand Opening of the Career Clothing Closet. A new on-campus resource for students to access professional clothing at no cost. Join us on Friday, April 5, 2024, from noon to 3 p.m. in the Career Services office in Hermann Hall, room 111, to check out the closet and join us as we celebrate. The new Career Clothing Closet is a donation-based service, and we welcome donations of professional attire, shoes, and accessories.

    Jason Wan Elected as Fellow of International Academy of Food Science and Technology

    Jason Wan, professor of Food Science and Nutrition and associate director of the Institute for Food Safety and Health (IFSH), has been elected by the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) to the 14th class of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology (IAFoST). Wan and the other 24 new fellows will be introduced by the Academy Executive Council, led by Dr. Charles Aworh, academy president, at the 22nd World Congress of Food Science and Technology to be held in Rimini, Italy, on September 8–12, 2024.

    Department of Applied Mathematics Remembers Karl Menger With Keynote Lecture and More Events

    Join the Illinois Tech Applied Math Department as we honor the legacy of Karl Menger. The Menger Day Celebration will be held April 8-9, 2024, at the Mies Campus. Karl Menger was a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at Illinois Tech from 1946 to 1971, who influenced many students, fellow faculty members, and friends during his lifetime. Regarded as one of the finest mathematicians of the twentieth century, he made significant contributions to the fields of dimension theory, probability, economics, ethics, geometry, and calculus.

    No Shade, All Tea is a groundbreaking and immersive dinner experience designed to create an inclusive space for women of color to engage in open, honest, and solution-oriented discussions hosted by Illinois Tech's Black Student Union, Healthy Hood Chicago, and the Lambda Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta. This experience is aimed at addressing and dismantling the taboos, standards, and challenges faced by women of color from marginalized communities.
