“What Is Open Scholarship?”
October 4 and November 4, 2021, from 12:45 to 1:30 p.m.

The term “open scholarship” is frequently heard in academic circles, but what does it mean? It’s often conflated with one particular concept, like free access to journal articles or providing textbooks at no cost to students, but it actually encompasses far more than just that. This workshop will attempt to demystify open scholarship in all its different manifestations.

“Publishing Options”
October 11 and November 11, 2021, from 12:45 to 1:30 p.m.

New ‘open’ publishing venues like institutional repositories, open access journals, preprint servers, or even sites like Research Gate, are making it increasingly confusing to choose the best place to publish your research. This is only compounded by the need to comply with various public access mandates imposed by research funding agencies. This workshop reviews the various ways to publish your work and how to choose between them. Available on October 11 and November 11, 2021, from 12:45 to 1:30 p.m.

The content presented in these workshops is intended for Graduate Students and Faculty. You can register now by visiting our Workshops and Events page.
