Today marks the 50th anniversary of Title IX, the federal anti-discrimination law which bans discrimination on the basis of sex and provides access to a fair, safe, and equitable environment. This important law has notably opened up substantial opportunities for women athletes over the last half-century, but it goes far beyond sports. Under Title IX, Illinois Tech has a responsibility to prevent, report, and respond to gender- and sex-based discrimination, including sexual harassment and sexual misconduct.
