The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference announced their all-league teams for men’s soccer and Illinois Tech’s Luke Holzman and Peter Fouchet were named to the Honorable Mention Team in the Scarlet Hawks‘ first year in the conference.
Holzman, a sophomore defender, from Downers Grove, Illinois, played in every conference match this season and started 17 out of 18 matches overall. He was also tied for the team lead in goals this season with five.
“Luke started all eleven conference games at center back. He used his size to anchor the back line and was a weapon on all set pieces,” Illinois Tech Men’s Soccer Coach Marc Colwell said.
Fouchet, a junior midfielder from Southold, New York , started in 15 out of his 17 matches this season for the Scarlet Hawks. He was tied for second on the team with four games and assisted on three other goals.
“Pete was a workhorse for us as an outside midfielder all season,” added Colwell. “He used his speed and athleticism in defending wide areas and also led the team with four goals and three assists in conference play.”
Illinois Tech men’s soccer went 9-9 overall and 4-7 in their first full season in the NACC.
