The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering will continue its Seminar Series on Friday, November 16 from 12:45–1:45 p.m. in Siegel Hall, Room 118, featuring guest speaker Mohammad Amin, Ph.D. senior research associate, Illinois Tech Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Amin will deliver a lecture titled “Integration of Wind Power: Stability and Interaction Issues.” Field experience has shown that subsynchronous oscillation and harmonic resonance can occur in the large-scale integration of wind farms into the grid. The oscillations can appear in the presence of background harmonics due to the interaction of the wind energy conversion system’s (WECS’s) converter controller, and the impact of the interconnection system impedance.
Refreshments will be served. Hope to see you there.
