The next Online Faculty Lounge will be on November 12 at Noon CST. Nik Sultana, assistant professor of computer science will present on FDP, a student-built learning tool for data networking followed by a discussion. Data networking over phones and other types of computers can achieve amazing feats of reliability, availability, and planetary scale, but it is also a complex subject that is challenging to learn and to teach. FDP is a teaching and demonstration tool that was designed to make use of a rich graphical interface while minimizing the technical burden for teachers

Nik Sultana recently joined Illinois Tech following a postdoc at the UPenn Distributed Systems Lab and at the Cambridge Systems Research Group where he worked on various research projects on computer systems.
