Not only has Illinois Tech senior forward Liam Barrett been awarded many academic honors this year but now the athletic awards are showing up as well. Barrett was named to the 2012 NAIA Men’s Soccer All-America honorable mention team on December 3. Barrett, a business major, led Illinois Tech with 17 goals and 6 assists this season.

Barrett was named the Chicago-land Collegiate Conference Player of the Year in 2010 and 2012. The Scarlet Hawks finished the 2012 campaign 8-9-2 and 5-4-2 in the CCAC. Illinois Tech lost in the conference tournament first round.
