Remembrance was the recipient of the 2020 African American Literature Award for Historical fiction and the 2021 Hurston/Wright Legacy Award for Debut Fiction. Remembrance tells a complex story of loss and survival across 200 years by four women, united by the color of their skin and the supernatural powers they command.
