Multi-level Organizational Diagnosis: Learnings from a Case Study at NASA
Most organizational diagnoses are made at either the individual employee level, for example, during senior talent reviews, or at the organizational level, as with engagement surveys. This opportunistic multi-level study investigated both the 16PF Questionnaire personality profiles and the Denison Culture Survey patterns at a division of NASA. Researchers also were able to explore the linkages between these two levels of data. Each data type provided useful organizational insights. Further, correlations between these independent measures were found in hypothesized directions. Also presented are the study limitations and future multi-level research opportunities, as well as lessons for successful three-way collaboration among 2 consulting firms and a client organization.
