Kim Moore, President & Founder of KDM Engineering
Being among the first few Black women to graduate from NIU with an electrical engineering degree, Moore knows firsthand what it’s like to be the only person in the room who looks and talks like her. She has made it her mission to change that. Felicia Chase, Geologist & Environmental Scientist at EPA
Felicia Chase is currently a Senior Geologist and Environmental Scientist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, (EPA) Region 5, Great Lakes Region. In her current position as a Geologist and Environmental Scientist, Felicia is responsible for: ensuring Safe Drinking Water and protection of underground sources of drinking water; regulating the construction, operation, permitting and closure of injection wells used to place fluids underground for storage or disposal; ensuring wells used for geologic sequestration are appropriately sited, constructed, tested, monitored, funded, and closed in accordance with the Safe Drinking Water Act; and outreach to public via Pubic Hearings, Town Halls, and various media outlets.
