The Illinois Tech women’s soccer team will be hosting the St. Norbert College Green Knights Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Stuart Field in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Women’s Soccer Tournament Semifinals, for the chance to advance to the NACC Tournament Championship match this coming Saturday, November 9.
The Scarlet Hawks finished as the conference regular season champions and undefeated in conference play for the second consecutive season, going 11-0-1 this fall. For the season, the Scarlet Hawks are 16-2-2 overall.
The Scarlet Hawks defeated the Green Knights during the regular season 4-0 at St. Norbert on October 19. Illinois Tech has won their last seven matches against St. Norbert, dating back to October 9, 2021, and have outscored the Green Knights 26-2 over that period. Included in that streak are three NACC postseason tournament victories over the Green Knights in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
The Green Knights entered the postseason tournament as the number five seed with a 5-4-3 conference record, and 11-5-3 overall. They defeated number four seed Concordia University Wisconsin on Saturday, November 2, in the NACC Quarterfinals at CUW, winning on penalty kicks 5-4 after a playing to a 1-1 draw during regulation time and two overtime periods.
The number one seeded Scarlet Hawks defeated number eight seed Wisconsin Lutheran College 9-0 on Saturday, November 2, in their NACC Quarterfinals match at Stuart Field.
The winner of tonight’s match will advance to the NACC Women’s Soccer Tournament Championship match on Saturday, November 9. Should the Scarlet Hawks win, they will host the championship match at 3 p.m. at Stuart Field.
