Illinois Tech is streamlining its course evaluation process and moving from Qualtrics to Blue by Explorance for all end of course (EoC) evaluations. Blue allows for a more positive and informative experience for all involved, including automated distribution, individual dashboard monitors, and customizable data reports.
Students and instructors with Fall 2024 courses have received or will receive an email from the Illinois Tech Course Evaluations Team (evals@survey.iit.edu) announcing the availability of EoC evaluations. Specific open and close dates vary by college or program with the majority open from November 11 to December 1. The announcement email contains links to course-specific EoC evaluations for students and to corresponding dashboards for instructors. In addition to the email link, users can access Blue through the “Course Evaluation” link on the Canvas course navigation menu or Profile; through the “Course Feedback” section in Coursera; or from the Illinois Tech Portal, under Tools.
Instructors will now be able to see their courses’ evaluation completion status in real time via their course dashboards, along with having the ability to send reminders. Instructors will have access to anonymous survey results from those same dashboards after final grades have been submitted.
Instructors are encouraged to communicate the importance of completing the EoC evaluations and monitor student progress from their dashboards. Learn more about student course evaluations on CLI’s website or the resource file in the Illinois Tech Portal.
In the coming weeks, CLI will offer faculty training to review the dashboard reports and navigate the system. In the meantime, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions for improvement, please contact the CLI course evaluation team at cli@iit.edu or if you have technical questions, contact us via supportdesk@iit.edu.
