About the Grainger Computing Innovation Prize

The Grainger Computing Innovation Prize invites ALL Illinois Tech bachelor’s and master’s students from any major to use computing, data science, and AI for social good. This is your opportunity to create innovative solutions for some of today’s toughest global challenges:

  • Health disparities
  • Climate change
  • Sustainable, smart infrastructure
  • And other ideas that benefit society

Over the fall 2025 semester, teams will compete for $30,000 in prizes:

  • 1st Place: $15,000
  • 2nd Place: $10,000
  • 3rd Place: $5,000

Kickoff Event and Overview: Wednesday, August 27, at 12:45–1:45 p.m. in the Hermann Hall Ballroom

Join us for the kickoff event to learn more, ask questions, connect with mentors, and meet potential teammates. Lunch will be provided.

Who Can Join

  • Open to ALL Illinois Tech bachelor’s and master’s students in any discipline
  • Entries must include an element of computing
  • Teams of two to five students may register, but it must include one undergraduate student per team
