Illinois Tech undergraduates are encouraged to apply for the 2026 Nuclear Chemistry Summer Schools (NCSS), a prestigious six-week summer program funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and administered by the American Chemical Society’s Division of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology. Participants will study nuclear chemistry and radiochemistry through hands-on laboratory experience and interactions with leading scientists from national laboratories and universities across the country.
The fully funded program—held June 15, 2026, to July 24, 2026 at either San Jose State University or Brookhaven National Laboratory—includes a $4,000 stipend, round-trip travel, on-campus housing, and tuition-paid undergraduate chemistry credit. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens who are sophomores or juniors and who have completed two years of chemistry, one year of physics, and one year of calculus (see eligibility details on the program flyer.
