Information Technology and Management (ITM) Hosting Four Events on AWS and Terraform

The College of Computing’s Department of Information Technology and Management invites you to four events, including a GameDay competition using AWS and Terraform. Before that, spend three training sessions honing your skills and learning new techniques. Each event is held on a Friday, from February 20 to March 13.

AWS GameDay with Terraform

Time: 12–6 p.m.

Location: Hermann Hall Ballroom

A full-day, hands-on team event where you apply your Terraform and AWS skills in real-world challenges. Participants will solve infrastructure problems, automate deployments, and compete in dynamic cloud scenarios in a gamified environment. Introduction to Command Line and Cloud Tech

A beginner-friendly workshop covering the fundamentals of using the command line and an overview of cloud computing concepts. You’ll get comfortable with CLI navigation and basic cloud terminology to prepare for Terraform and AWS sessions.

Introduction to Terraform and AWS

An introductory session focused on teaching you the basics of HashiCorp Terraform and AWS. Expect an overview of infrastructure-as-code principles, how Terraform works with AWS, and simple hands-on examples.

A follow-up workshop that builds on the intro session with more advanced Terraform concepts and deeper AWS integration. Topics may include modules, state management, and more realistic infrastructure deployments.
