Here’s a look at Scarlet Hawk athletics on March 10, 2026.
Men’s Athletics
Men’s track and field student-athlete Carson Owens (B.ARCH. 1st Year) qualified for the NCAA Division III Men’s Track and Field Indoor Championships that will take place on March 13–14, 2026, in Birmingham, Alabama. Owens qualified for nationals in the men’s 400 meters event with a banked-track-converted qualifying time of 48.01 seconds. To qualify for nationals, the top 20 student-athlete performers in an event earn an invitation to nationals.
The Scarlet Hawks baseball team split a doubleheader on Sunday, March 8, to finish the weekend 1-3 against the College of Wooster and Elmhurst University in Lafayette, Indiana. The Scarlet Hawks lost to Wooster and Elmhurst on Saturday, March 7, but were able to salvage a split on Sunday thanks to a big eighth inning against Elmhurst.
The men’s volleyball team went 1-2 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play last week, sweeping Rockford University on March 4 but losing at Lakeland University on March 3 and falling to Milwaukee School of Engineering on March 7.
Illinois Tech’s men’s lacrosse team came up short in its only game of the week, falling to DePauw University on Saturday, March 7.
The men’s tennis team, meanwhile, beat University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Sunday, March 8.
Women’s Athletics
It was a light schedule for the Scarlet Hawks women’s teams last week, with just two games on the docket.
The Scarlet Hawks women’s lacrosse team dropped a home match to Elmhurst University on March 5, while the women’s tennis team, playing its first match since October 10, fell to University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Sunday, March 7.
