Illinois Tech Dining is pleased to announce the appointment of Macrina Ocampo as Catering Director for Chartwells Illinois Institute of Technology.

Macrina brings more than 15 years of experience in catering, events, hospitality operations, and client relations. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for creating exceptional guest experiences, developing high-performing teams, and delivering memorable events that exceed expectations.

Her background includes leadership roles with organizations such as the Field Museum, LM Catering & Events, and The Elm Restaurant, where she gained extensive experience in catering sales, event operations, private dining, and large-scale event management. Most recently, she led the restructuring of a private dining department, developing training programs, operational resources, and standard procedures that improved consistency, strengthened team performance, and enhanced the client experience.

As Catering Director, Macrina will oversee campus catering operations, working closely with university departments, student organizations, faculty, staff, and external guests to deliver exceptional events across campus. Her focus on hospitality, innovation, and operational excellence will support Illinois Tech Dining’s commitment to providing outstanding experiences for the university community.
