Congratulations to the recipients of the 2012 Undergraduate Research Day Awards. The winners will receive $150 for first place, $100 for second place, and $50 for third place. This year, four honorary prizes were added to recognize undergraduate students doing outstanding research in the areas of the four IIT Engineering Themes: Water, Health, Energy and Security. The students, chosen by faculty judges, will receive $150 as recognition for their outstanding submissions.
“We are very proud to have a strong pool of entries from undergraduates from four of the university’s colleges who are conducting research with professors at IIT and other universities,” says Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering Eric Brey, director of the Office of Undergraduate Research. “We are also excited to partner with the IIT Engineering Themes to offer additional recognition to students whose research exemplifies the global impact and relevance of each theme. This partnership offers support to our mission of bringing faculty and students together to promote undergraduate research at IIT.”
