Stan Allen, Principal, SAA/Stan Allen Architect will speak about “Metropolitan Fields” at the IIT Architecture Chicago Spring Lecture 2014, which takes place at 6 pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Center Core in S.R. Crown Hall.

Allen is an architect working in New York where he served as Dean of the School of Architecture from 2002-2012. His architectural firm SAA /Stan Allen Architect has realized buildings and urban projects in the United States, South America and Asia.

Responding to the complexity of the modern city in creative ways, Allen has developed an extensive catalogue of innovative design strategies, in particular looking at field theory, landscape architecture and ecology as models to revitalize the practices of urban design.
