IIT engineering students are invited to a Water Quality Testing Workshop put on in coordination with the Engineers Without Borders (EWB) USA IIT chapter from 12:45-1:40 pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, in Wishnick Auditorium. The facilitator of the workshop will be Ron Beadle, Engineering Resource Associates (ERA), EWB-USA Chicagoland Professional Chapter.
With more than 28 years of professional engineering experience, Beadle founded ERA in 1990. As President, he acts as Project Director and QA/QC Manager on the design and construction of all transportation, streetscape, traffic signal, infrastructure, stormwater, recreational and environmental improvement projects in ERA’s four offices located in Warrenville, Geneva, Chicago and Champaign. He is responsible for the implementation of the firm’s quality control and quality assurance plan on all projects.
Water testing is an essential component of many sustainable development projects worldwide and requires unique perspectives when working in the field. What elements should be tested, and under what circumstances? This workshop will discuss the various issues to be considered in water testing, from understanding the basic chemical and physical properties of water to reviewing pathogens and providing information about the best methods of testing in various regions.
Students should RSVP here. This workshop qualifies for Water Theme credit. Food and drink will be provided
