Join IIT students, employees, and alumni to give back to Chicago at the 6th annual Big Event at 9:30 am on Saturday April 26, 2014. Volunteers will meet in the McCormick Tribune Campus Center and volunteer at various locations throughout Chicago. This is the largest single service event at IIT and this year, Friday night (April 25) and Saturday night (April 26) options are available. Sign up here.
For the past 29 years, universities across the nation have participated in this annual event to show their appreciation to the surrounding community by completing service projects such as yard work, window washing, and painting for community members. This year’s Big Event will take place at various sites from the neighborhoods around the IIT Main Campus and across Chicago. Family and friends are also invited to participate in this year’s volunteer events.
After the service events are completed, a picnic will take place at 2 pm in Morton Park (North of Hermann Hall) on the Main Campus sponsored by the Office of Campus Life as a gesture of appreciation for the volunteer work.
