NIST SURF Student Fellowship Program – Colorado

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has announced their Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program for students majoring in science, engineering, and mathematics. This program operates at NIST’s Boulder, Colorado campus. NIST SURF BOULDER proposals are handled as a limited submission. This means it is an IIT internal competition, with IIT sending NIST only the best student applications. Therefore, NIST SURF BOULDER proposals are handled in a special manner. If you are interested in applying to SURF at Boulder, please send SURF Boulder application materials to esoto2@iit.edu. The IIT deadline, including faculty sponsor’s Office of Sponsored Research and Programs routing sheet is at noon on February 2, 2015. The institutional limit is eight students. Applications for participation in the SURF program are accepted only from colleges or universities and not from individual students or faculty. The IIT Office of Sponsored Research and Programs will prepare a single proposal to the SURF program. This proposal will include a portion completed by an institutional representative and a set of materials provided by each student applicant. An administrative announcement of this Federal Funding Opportunity (FFO) has been posted on both Grants.gov and the program website. Only U.S. citizens or permanents resident are eligible to participate in the SURF Program.

Students applying to the SURF BOULDER program will be matched to opportunities in the Boulder divisions:

Further information and application materials may be found here.

***IMPORTANT NOTE:
Per IIT policy, all grant applications (federal and non-federal) must be reviewed, signed and submitted by the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs regardless of the amount of the request. Please contact osrp@iit.edu or call at 312.567.3035 for more information on submitting a proposal.
