IIT Institute of Design’s BarnRaise Conference will be held from Monday, October 12, through Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in Chicago.
With a deep passion to design something better for the larger community and the sense of a stirring creative energy in Chicago and beyond, IIT Institute of Design’s BarnRaise Conference brings together a community of ideators, practitioners, researchers, and problem solvers to build something meaningful and impactful.
BarnRaise participants work on a multidisciplinary teams led by highly regarded design firms like Design Concepts, RKS, and Razorfish. Over the course of 60-hours, participants will leverage the collective expertise and ingenuity to tackle a problem posed by a Chicago-based community partner. As the final bell rings, all teams will gather to celebrate and share their ideas with the public.
This year’s theme “Desiging for Improved Access to Care,” focuses on barriers and opportunities around a patient’s journey to attain sufficient and proper healthcare services. Each team will work closely with a Chicago-based organization that is thinking critically and creatively about access on a daily basis. Multidisciplinary teams will blaze through the design process to uncover insights and prototype viable solutions.
Space is limited on the design teams. Current Illinois Institute of Technology graduate students, faculty, and staff are eligible for a reduced ticket price of $150. Learn more here.
