On Sunday, August 23, 2015, Illinois Tech’s WIIT 88.9 FM Chicago radio station will welcome science communicator and advocate Bill Nye to the university. Nye is scheduled to begin his lecture at 7 p.m. in the Hermann Hall Auditorium. Given the extent and expected popularity of this event, the Hermann Hall Ballroom will also be opened as an overflow room to stream the event.
A short meet-and-greet with Nye and 30 specially-selected students will precede the presentation. The 30 students will be selected via call-in radio contests, where students can call in during specially-advertised shows at 312.567.3088, exclusive social media promotions, as well as other opportunities. These contests will also be posted to the WIIT Facebook Page.
After the meet and greet, the contest winners will be taken to reserved seats. Keep an eye out for banner contests the week leading up to the talk during lunch (between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.) on The Bridge in The McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC), and also at the Taste of the Quad on Saturday, August 22.
