On Wednesday, August 26, Illinois Institute of Technology hosted the Crain’s Tech 50 celebration and welcomed some of Chicago’s leaders in the tech industry to campus. Guests gathered to recognize 50 individuals identified by Crain’s Chicago Business as the entrepreneurs, connectors, investors, and technologists who are at the center of the city’s tech scene. Jason Resch, software architect for Cleversafe and Illinois Tech computer science graduate of 2006, was among the honorees.
Resch, who is in his ninth year at Cleversafe, has 121 patents to his name and 267 patent applications pending. Last year, he devised a plan to decentralize part of the data-storage architecture of the company. This algorithm has now become an essential part of the next product iteration of Cleversafe, and will provide a burst of speed and efficiency for the company. Resch started working at Cleversafe, which was the first startup in Illinois Tech’s tech incubator, during his senior year.
Illinois Tech trustee Chris Gladwin, the founder of Cleversafe who regularly appears on the Tech 50 list, facilitated the partnership with Crain’s Chicago Business, which gave Illinois Tech an opportunity to showcase all that it has to offer Chicago’s tech community.
