CTA has begun confiscating U-Passes that are being misused. Remember – only you are authorized to use your U-Pass. If your U-Pass is misused or presented for transportation by any person other than yourself, it will be confiscated by CTA, suspended for a full calendar year, and the authorized user may be subject to criminal prosecution. While your card is suspended you will still have to pay the U-Pass fee each semester.
If your U-Pass has already been confiscated, do not report it lost or stolen. If you do, CTA will deactivate it and you will lose your $50. Contact Vickie Tolbert in the Dean of Students office (dos@iit.edu) if you have questions.
