Manu K. Vora Receives BHU Distinguished Alumnus Award

The Alumni Cell of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) selected Manu K. Vora as a recipient of the BHU Distinguished Alumnus Award. The award was presented in a special ceremony on November 24, 2015 at the Swatantrata Bhawan of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. Anil Kumar Agrawal, head, IIT (BHU) Training & Placement Cell accepted Vora’s Award on his behalf.

On the occasion of the first Centennial Celebration of BHU (2015-2016), a BHU International Alumni Meet was held at the BHU campus. Seventeen Distinguished Alumnus Awards were conferred at the Valedictory Function of the Alumni Meet. Awards were presented by Shri Ram Naik, governor of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Manoj Sinha, minister of state, Indian Railways, and Shri Dr. Girish Chandra Tripathi, vice-chancellor of BHU.

Vora is chairman and president of Business Excellence, Inc., a global quality management consulting service firm. He has over 40 years of leadership experience guiding Fortune 500 companies with Baldrige Performance Excellence framework. He is a past vice president from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Board of Directors. He is an ASQ Fellow and Certified Quality Engineer (CQE). He served as the chief judge at the Illinois Team Excellence Award Program from 1993-1999. He is a senior examiner of the Asia Pacific Global Performance Excellence Award Program since 2004. In 1968, he received a J. N. Tata Scholarship to pursue his graduate studies in the United States. He is recipient of “2013 Keller Graduate School of Management’s Top 40 Alumni for the 40th Anniversary.” and “2012 IIT Chicago Alumni Medal.”
