Orlando Cardenas has earned another Player of the Week award in what’s shaping up to be a very strong freshman season. The California native has earned Association of Division III Independents Men’s Cross Country Player of the Week honors for the week of September 18-24.
Cardenas led the way for Illinois Tech at Augustana College’s Brissman-Lundeen Invitational. In the 8k race, Cardenas placed 20th out of 313 individuals with a time of 27:30.7. It is the third player of the week honor the freshman has earned this season, as he received both AD3I’s and the USCAA Men’s Cross Country Player of the Week award for the week of September 4-10.
Illinois Tech Cross Country will compete in Wartburg College’s Don Huston Invite on Saturday, October 1. Race time is set for 10:45 a.m.
