- Grace Bible scored first, as Tarcisco Siva netted the match’s initial goal in the 31st minute.
- In the 43rd minute, Norikazu Honda responded for the Scarlet Hawks. Noah Griffith earned the assist to tie the score at 1-1.
- Despite the Scarlet Hawks outshooting Grace Bible 13-1 in the second half, the Tiger defense held and sent the match to overtime.
- The unbalanced shot numbers continued in extra time. Illinois Tech outshot Grace 8-3 in the two extra periods, but Drew Smith stayed strong in net for the Tigers. A last-second shot in the last overtime from Griffith missed wide.
