Be Part of Better Together Week

Better Together is a national movement that brings together people of different religious and non-religious backgrounds to work toward a common goal. It’s for anyone who wants to share their values and learn something unforgettable about someone else’s. It doesn’t matter if you’re a student or not, religious or not. We can all use a little more inspiration these days.

The celebration began on Better Together Day (April 6) and keeps going for a full week, concluding with a Bowling Social and fundraiser on Thursday, April 13. Check out the full list of upcoming events below.

April 10 through Wednesday, April 12: Conversation Couch (noon–2 p.m. on The McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC) Bridge) – Stop by, have a conversation, and get some free goodies.

Tuesday, April 11: Womyn POWER Hour (WIIT 88.9FM, 9–10 p.m.) – Join your hosts this week as they talk about different goddesses from different cultures and religions and play empowering music by positive female artists.

April 12: Allah Made Me Funny (MTCC Auditorium, 7 p.m.) – This landmark concert film follows three acclaimed Muslim comedians on stage and off as they lift the veil to reveal the humorous truth of what it’s really like to be Muslim in America.

April 13: Bowling Social and Fundraiser (The Bog, 9–11 p.m.) – Have fun, make friends, and make a difference for a local charity too. Illinois Tech students, staff, faculty. and alumni are invited to participate. Sign up to be a bowler here. When you sign up, cast your vote for the charity that will receive the proceeds from the event.
