The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has announced that the Illinois Tech Men’s Soccer team has won the United States Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the third year in a row. The team was recognized for its academic achievements for the 2016–17 academic year by the NSCAA.
Teams qualify for the prestigious award with a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the school year. A total of 303 men’s teams received the awards across the country.
The team had a great year in 2017 on the field as well, posting a 14-5-1 record. The Scarlet Hawks made the USCAA National Championship Tournament as the seventh seed and split the pool-play matches against some great competition.
