CISC Frontiers in Scientific Computation Lecture on Extreme-Scale Computing – January 18

Lois Curfman McInnes, a senior computational scientist at Argonne National Laboratory and SIAM fellow, will present the lecture “Community Software Ecosystems for High-Performance CSE: Opportunities and Challenges” on Thursday, January 18 at 12:45 p.m. in the Robert A. Pritzker Science Center Auditorium (LS 111).

While high-performance computers provide unprecedented resources for scientific discovery, the computational science and engineering (CSE) community faces daunting productivity and sustainability challenges for parallel application development. Curfman McInnes will introduce the xSDK, or Extreme-scale Scientific Software Development Kit, which has the vision of providing a collection of complementary software elements as the building blocks for efficient development of high-quality applications.
