On March 28 the Department of Humanities and the Office of Student Access, Success and Diversity hosted their third annual Women’s History Month program.
In 1987 the US Congress designated March as National Women’s History Month. This creates a special opportunity in our schools, our workplaces, and our communities to recognize and celebrate the often-overlooked achievements of American women. This year, Lewis College of Human Sciences Professor of History Margaret Power and Lisa Montgomery, director, Office of Inclusion, Diversity, Employer and Alumni Engagement were thrilled to celebrate the Women’s History Month panel discussion, where our female students were able to passionately tell their stories. Some of the student participants shared the names of women that they admire and applaud and we would like to share them with you.
March is Women’s History Month, but Illinois Tech recognizes and observes the advancements and achievements of women throughout the year.
