The Association of Division III Athletics has named Illinois Tech’s Zachary Dickey player of the week for baseball for his play during the week of April 15-22. This is the second week in a row he has won the award.
Dickey hit .346 during six games last week in WIAC play, driving in six and scoring once with four doubles. The sophomore had at least one hit in each of the games against #3 Wisconsin-Whitewater and Wisconsin-Stout. The El Paso, Texas, native totaled nine hits in 26 at-bats during the week of competition, including a 2-for-8 on April 17 against the Warhawks and a combined 7-for-18 against the Blue Devils over the weekend.
Baseball is back in action on Thursday, April 26 at Guaranteed Rate Field for a special home game against Aurora at 6 p.m. Then the team will take on Wisconsin-Stevens Point for a weekend series of doubleheaders on Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29.
