The Illinois Tech Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving teams received several academic recognitions from the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. Four men and seven women have been named to the 2017–18 Winter Non-USCAA Sport National All-Academic Team. This award honors student-athletes who maintain a minimum GPA of 3.50/4.00. The Winter Non-USCAA Sport National All-Academic Award is for those student athletes that participate at a member institution in a sport that is not currently recognized by the USCAA. The Scarlet Hawks men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams compete in the Liberal Arts Conference.
Junior men’s swimmers Benjamin Cohen and Louis German plus sophomores Miles Thompson and Zachary Bonson were all recognized as part of the National All-Academic Team. Women’s swimmers and divers Ava Obenaus, Briana Tyler, Brigitte Temple, Christian Jones, Emma Prager, Katherine Lydon, and Madeline Lane were also awarded with the designation.
