Mehdi Modares, associate professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering (CAEE), recently gave a talk at Istanbul Aydın University in Turkey. In this invited, university-wide talk, Modares discussed fundamentals of reliability of engineering computations and uncertainty analyses in terms of categorization, current paradigms, and future trends. He also illustrated the application of a developed method in quantifying and incorporating impreciseness in earthquake engineering problems.
