The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP) is now accepting applications.
The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) helps ensure the vitality of the human resource base of science and engineering in the United States and reinforces its diversity. The program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited United States institutions. Each fellowship consists of three years of support during a five-year fellowship period. NSF provides a stipend of $34,000 to the fellow and a cost-of-education allowance of $12,000 to the graduate degree-granting institution for each fellow who uses the fellowship support in a fellowship year.
NSF especially encourages women, members of underrepresented minority groups, persons with disabilities, veterans, and undergraduate seniors to apply. You must be a U.S. citizen, national or permanent resident to apply. Individuals can apply directly.
Deadlines for the program fall between Monday, October 22, 2018 and Friday, October 26, 2018, depending on your area of study.
