Industrial Technology and Management is pleased to announce the 2012-13 award of the Irving M. Footlik Scholarship to Joaquin Vera, a transfer student from College of DuPage who began his INTM studies this fall. The scholarship covers tuition for two courses during the first year of attendance. The award was presented at a recent luncheon by Mrs. Sylvia Footlik and her son, Robert B. Footlik (IE ’68), on behalf of the Irving M. and Sylvia Footlik Foundation.
This endowed scholarship was established in memory of Mr. Irving M. Footlik (ME ’39), a dedicated and involved IIT alumnus who, together with his wife Sylvia, gave time, attention and financial support to multiple campus initiatives and student projects. The scholarship is in place to benefit students who obtain practical training at a community college and transfer to IIT to pursue the Bachelor of Industrial Technology and Management (BINTM).
