On Saturday, October 6, Net Impact will lead a tour of the Chicago Center for Green Technology and you’re invited!
CCGT is the most comprehensive green design educational resource in the Midwest. It promotes and advances sustainable homes, workplaces and communities through innovative offerings showcasing cutting edge green landscaping, building technology, rehabbing, renewable energy and resource recycling. CCGT is located in the first rehabilitated municipal building in the U.S. to be rated LEED Platinum. Dedicated in 2002, CCGT has become a national model for sustainable design and technology.
Who can go? Any IIT students/faculty interested in environmental and sustainability issues.

• A history of CCGT, an outline of the site’s design and construction, an in-depth look at the Chicago Green corps demonstration garden, a walking tour of the CCGT’s prairie-wetland, a look at the facility’s energy systems including solar arrays and geothermal heating and cooling system and a trip to the building’s “green roof”.
