KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Illinois Tech women’s soccer team had two players named All-Central Region by United Soccer Coaches. Freshman Jamie Griggs has been named Third Team forward, joining Katie Hoefgen as Tech’s All-Region Selections.
Griggs had a spectacular freshman season, scoring 15 goals, tallying six assists, and recording 36 points. Her .283 shooting percentage and .660 shot on goal percentage were amongst the top three in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC). In addition, Griggs tallied four game-winning goals on the season.
The California native had four multi-goal games including a four-goal performance in a 13-1 win at Alverno on October 6. Her biggest goal of the season came against Concordia-Wisconsin on October 13, as she notched the game-winner in double overtime in the 104th minute.
Tech women’s soccer had one of its best seasons in school history this past fall, finishing 16-5-1 overall and reaching the NACC Tournament Championship match.
