FULL UNITED SOCCER COACHES RELEASE
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After one of the best seasons in school history, which saw a 16-5-1 record, a trip to the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship (NACC) game, and several weeks as a regionally-ranked team, Illinois Tech women’s soccer has earned an All-Region award. United Soccer Coaches has named senior Katie Hoefgen to its All-Central Region team as a Second Team forward.
Hoefgen netted 22 goals, which tied the school record dating back to Amy Bourquard’s 2004 season. Her 53 points also tied a school record, also held by Bourquard (2005). In addition, the Wisconsin native added nine assists, 46 shots on goal, and 94 shots. All of the individual numbers ranked in the top five of the NACC.
One of only two Scarlet Hawks to start all 22 matches, the senior tallied seven multi-goal games, including a four-goal, two-assist performance in an 8-0 win at Lakeland College on October 17. In the NACC Tournament Semifinals, she scored twice in a 4-3 win over Marian University.
