The Muslim Students Association (MSA) at IIT is delighted to host a lecture by renowned speaker Yasmin Mogahed. This Student Activities Fund-sponsored lecture is open to all. The topic revolves around the lessons from the incident when Prophet Abrahim (peace be upon him) was willing to sacrifice his beloved son Ishmael for the sake of God.

The lecture will be held at Stuart Building Auditorium on Saturday, November 3 at 1:30 pm. After the lecture, the presenter will be holding a book signing for her new book Reclaim your Heart at the mosque in IIT located on the third floor Farr Hall, 3300 S. Michigan Avenue. Yasmin Mogahed received a B.S. in psychology and a master’s degree in journalism and mass communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After completing her graduate work, she taught Islamic studies and served as the sisters’ youth director for the Islamic Society of Milwaukee. She also worked as a writing instructor for Cardinal Stritch University and as a staff columnist for the Islam section of InFocus News. Currently, Mogahed is an instructor for New Dawn Institute, a writer for the Huffington Post, and an internationally published author, focusing most of her work on spiritual and personal development.

She just launched her new book, Reclaim Your Heart, which is now available worldwide. MSA has a limited stock of her book, which she will be selling and signing after the lecture insha Allah.
