COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected the Division III Scholar Teams for the spring 2019 semester. With strong seasons not only in the pool but also in the classroom, Illinois Tech’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams have received the honor.
In order to qualify as a Scholar All-America team, a team needs to record a collective grade point average of at least 3.0 on a four-point scale. This semester, a total of 777 teams representing 480 institutions were honored: a CSCAA record.
Both Scarlet Hawk teams had outstanding 2018–19 seasons under first-year head coach Andy Parro. On the men’s side, Tech placed second out of eight teams at the Liberal Arts Championships, while the women placed third out of 11 squads.
