August 13, 2019Posted in: University News

The Office of Student Affairs is accepting nominations for the Abraham Lincoln Civic Engagement Award. The award honors an outstanding senior from each of the four-year degree-granting institutions of higher learning in Illinois.

In the spirit of Lincoln, student laureates are honored for their leadership and service in the pursuit of the betterment of humanity and for overall excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities. The student must be a senior with no less than a 3.0 cumulative and major grade point average.

The award recipient will attend a special ceremony on Saturday, November 16 in the House of Representatives of the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield. They will be presented with the Lincoln Academy Student Laureate Medallion, a certificate of achievement, and the Abraham Lincoln Civic Engagement award in the amount of $1,000.

Submit nominations here by Friday, October 4. Email Jackie McGhee at jmcghee@iit.edu with any questions.
