The winners of 2019 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine were announced on October 7. The prize was awarded to three scientists who made discoveries around how cells sense and adapt to oxygen availability.
Jialing Xiang from the Department of Biology will give a colloquium talk on this topic on Monday, October 28 at 3:15 p.m. in the Pritzker Science Building auditorium. She will talk about how the oxygen sensor works and how such a discovery can directly impact treatments from anemia to cancer.
Students and faculty at all levels are welcome to attend.
