With spring registration underway, now is the time to act if you have an outstanding fall balance. The Office of Student Accounting has placed a hold on your account if you have a fall balance, which prevents you from registering for spring classes. You can lift this hold by covering your balance through out-of-pocket payments, accepting student loans, or requesting student loan increases. If you plan to pay your bill using federal or state aid, please remember to submit any requested documentation to our office.
If you would like to accept your federal loans, please visit your Financial Aid Dashboard (found on the “Welcome” tab of your myIIT portal) and navigate to the “Award Offer” tab. Make sure you are viewing the 2020–2021 Award Year, and scroll to the bottom of the page to see your available loans. If you plan on borrowing loans this semester, please act quickly, as the last day to accept or increase a federal student loan is Friday, November 20.
If you have outstanding verification documents or a requirement to submit proof of Illinois residency in order to qualify for the Illinois MAP Grant, please make sure to submit these documents as soon as possible or contact our office if you have any questions. The last day to submit Illinois Residency documentation for the Illinois MAP Grant is Monday, November 30.
If you have any questions regarding your loan options or outstanding requirements, please connect with the Office of Financial Aid by calling 312.567.3982, emailing finaid@iit.edu, or scheduling a virtual appointment.
