The 2014 annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science takes place February 12-17 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago located at 151 East Wacker Drive. This year’s theme is “Meeting Global Challenges: Discovery and Innovation.” Thousands of engineers, scientists, educators and others are expected to attend.
Wiel Arets, Dean of the IIT College of Architecture, and Antony Wood, executive director of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, will speak on Saturday, February 15, 2014 during a session entitled “What Will The City of the Future Look Like?” from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in Grand Ballroom A. Other panelists include William Baker, Structural Engineering Partner, at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill and Saskia Sassen, Robert S. Lynd Professor of Sociology at Columbia University.
