Beginning Fall 2026, Illinois Tech’s Institute of Design (ID) will open four newly developed courses to the broader university community. For the first time in over a decade, undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines can learn the design-led mindset that distinguishes strategic leaders from technical executors.

These courses move beyond aesthetics to focus on the mechanics of innovation: identifying systemic gaps, prototyping complex solutions, and building products and services tailored to human needs.

Whether your background is in engineering, computer science, or business, these courses are designed to complement your primary field of study, giving you the tools to lead teams and shape the strategy behind the work you do.

Enrollment is open to all majors for Fall 2026. Seats are limited.
