Ahmet Kose has been named the head women’s soccer coach and assistant sports information director for Illinois Tech Athletics, Director of Athletics Enzley Mitchell IV announced this week. Kose comes to Chicago from New Jersey where he was the head women’s soccer coach at College of Saint Elizabeth for the past 4 seasons. He also has extensive experience at the high school and youth level having coached and trained many club teams in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
“I am extremely excited to welcome Ahmet to the Scarlet Hawk family. Coach Kose has all of the qualities we were looking for in our next women’s soccer coach and I’m looking forward to next season,” said Mitchell.
Kose was a 4-year starter and First Team All-Conference player for DII East Stroudsburg University from 1998-2001. In 2000, he helped lead his team to the DII Final Four and the team finished the season ranked number 3 in the country. Kose was also named the most valuable player in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference playoffs in 2001. He recently played with the Pocono Snow of the NPSL.
Kose received his bachelor’s degree in physical education from East Stroudsburg in 2003. He then returned in 2009 and earned his master’s in sport management. He is USSF licensed and has his national diploma from NSCAA.
Kose began his coaching and administrative duties at IIT on March 11.
