Apply to Graduate Now — Deadline Is Monday, September 8

If you are planning to graduate at the end of the Fall 2025 semester (December), please be aware that applications for graduation are now open.

The Graduation Application Deadline is Monday, September 8.

Be sure to submit the graduation application by the deadline!

If you filed a graduation application prior to today, please disregard this notice. If you applied for a previous semester and did not complete degree requirements, you do not need to reapply unless you have officially changed degree programs for the semester and plan to complete all requirements in .

To begin the application process, you will start from the Illinois Tech Portal. Click “Student Dropdown” and from the options, select “Student Dashboard.” From there, click “Apply to Graduate.” Once the application is processed, you will receive an email confirmation. The graduation fee will appear on your student account within 5-7 business days, and your degree status will appear as “pending” on the unofficial transcript.

Late Graduation Application

After the semester graduation application deadline, the final date to submit a late application request for Fall 2025 graduation is Thursday, November 20, 2025. After that date, students will no longer be able to graduate in Fall 2025 but will be eligible to apply for Spring 2026 graduation. In addition to the regular graduation fee, a late graduation fee of $110 will also be assessed. Both fees are published by the Student Accounting Office website, under Tuition and Fees. For late graduation applications please e-mail Academic Affairs at aa@illinoistech.edu.

Program Changes (including majors, concentrations, and degree type)

Be sure to review your current degree type, major and concentration/specialization (if applicable) for accuracy in the portal and on the graduation application. If you plan to change majors, degree types, or add a concentration/specialization, you must do so prior to applying for graduation. To submit changes for approval by your adviser, academic unit, and academic affairs, you must file a Change of Degree, Major, and/or Declare Concentration, Project or Thesis Option (Program options only) in eForms for Graduate Degree Works (accessed from the Illinois Tech Portal). If you intend to make changes, please do so in a timely manner to avoid delays during the application process.

Visit the Illinois Tech Academic Calendar page for deadlines concerning degree conferral.
